The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics is looking for an Associate Scientist to join the Department of Cancer Genetics, Therapeutics & Ultrastructural Pathology of the Institute.
The Cancer Genetics Therapeutics & Ultrastructural Pathology conducts clinical diagnostic services, scientific research and post-graduate level teaching and project supervision primarily in the area of cancer as well as other diseases. In addition, the Department directs and manages all activities of the Institute’s Analytical Chemistry and Biobank core facilities.
JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will be engaged in advancing the research, education and specialized diagnostic services of the Department. Specifically, she/he will:
- Carry out research by utilizing state-of-the-art metabolomics / lipidomics technologies
- Develop research projects
- Prepare grant proposals
- Contribute to the supervision of MSc and PhD students
- Contribute to the diagnostic services of the Department
REQUIREMENTS
• A PhD degree in any Biological Sciences, Chemistry or closely related field
• Excellent command of the Greek and/or Turkish and English languages

Hands-on experience in metabolomics / lipidomics (including sample processing and data analysis), demonstrated experience in authoring manuscripts and preparing funding applications will be considered as an advantage.
