The International Max Planck Research School on Advanced Photon Science (IMPRS-APS) is opening new PhD positions.
Program overview: The IMPRS-APS is established at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ) in collaboration with the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the Vienna Institute of Technology (VUT), and the Graz University of Technology (TU Graz). The members of IMPRS-APS pursue forefront research on advancing light sources and employing them for gaining deeper insight into the microscopic structure and dynamics of matter, as well as for biomedical applications.
Research areas: Doctoral candidates will have the opportunity to conduct research at the forefront of ultrafast science, exploring phenomena on timescales ranging from femtoseconds to attoseconds. This includes investigating the dynamics of molecules using advanced spectroscopic techniques, developing and applying machine learning approaches, advancing precision-spectroscopy experiments, and investigating light-controlled electron motion in solids.
