Delft University of Technology has several PhD student opportunities for experimental research on spin qubits and quantum simulation using gate-defined silicon or germanium quantum dot arrays.
Topics of interest in the domain of spin qubits include the scaling of qubit arrays, the study of novel control methods for high-fidelity operations, the shuttling of electron spins across the chip, and the use of superconducting resonators for fast spin readout and for coupling distant spins.
For quantum simulation, we are interested in developing novel methods for Hamiltonian engineering and for probing systems of multiple interacting electron charges or spins, to enable studies of the Fermi-Hubbard model and spin lattice models.
