Plastic upcycling through catalytic transformations is an attractive concept to valorise waste, but the clean and energy efficient production of high-value products from plastics remains challenging. The project will assess the potential of solar-driven reforming of polyester plastics using novel catalysts to produce clean H2 and value-added chemicals. The research will centre on creating catalysis materials and understanding how they influence the production of green hydrogen through photo-activated processes.
