The Research Training Group 1558 – funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and associated with Technische Universität Berlin and its partner institutions, Freie Universität Berlin, Universität Potsdam, Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt and Max-Delbrück-Centrum – offers a platform for educating doctoral students in interdisciplinary research by applying and developing concepts for describing the collective dynamics of nonlinear dissipative systems chosen from three project areas.

- project A1: Dynamics of complex laser structures under optical injection and Feedback (to be filled from May 2016);
- project B2: Dense colloidal suspensions in microfluidic flow (to be filled from April 2016);
- project B3: Shear-driven instabilities of colloidal disks and disk-rod mixtures (to be filled from May 2016).
Requirements: Successful candidates must have completed a university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics. Applicants should have a strong expertise and interest in theoretical physics.
