The Cyprus Institute has developed a long-term international partnership with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. To strengthen and expand this collaboration, up to three postdoctoral research positions starting, August 2016, are available to develop close ties between the Research and Education thematic areas at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois and research centers of the Cyprus Institute.
These joint positions can be based at either location and would involve significant time spent in the partner location (at least 3 months per year) to assure close collaboration. Postdoctoral researchers will have a mentoring committee involving faculty from both sites, and as part of the NCSA Postdoctoral Program will follow carefully constructed Personal Development Plans.
Areas in which the partnership is particularly interested in recruiting postdoctoral researchers include:
Computing and Data
For interested applicants, there is an opportunity for a joint postdoctoral research position to bridge between the NCSA Computer and Data Sciences thematic area and an international partnership that NCSA maintains with the Cyprus Institutes’ Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center (CaSToRC). This partnership includes a mutual interest in visualization, parallel processing, code optimization, new architectures and high performance computing for scientific applications.
