Description
Successful applicants will become a core member of the GREENLULUS team (which will include the Principal Investigator, 1 other postdoctoral researcher, 4 PhD students, and a Research Assistant). The postdoctoral researchers will contribute to the GREENLULUs team’s conceptual and analytical development (see abstract below), co-supervise doctoral students, and co-coordinate the implementation of the project. Postdoctoral research will include a quantitative/spatial analysis of the social and racial impact of the restoration or creation of new green amenities (parks, gardens, urban farms, ecological corridors, green promenades, etc) in US and EU cities and of investors' responses to the creation or restoration of green amenities. Research will also include a qualitative analysis of community mobilization in the context of green amenity creation or restoration and of policy/planning interventions to address threats or presence of green gentrification. The selected candidate will conduct selected field work in EU and/or US cities. Last she/he will also participate in the development of a Fair Urban Greening index that will help compare green cities’ social and racial impact with each other.
