The Summer School is organised in the framework of the project “Services of general interest in the EU: A citizens’ perspective on public versus private provision” (EUsers network), which is financed by the action Jean Monnet Networks of the Erasmus + programme.
The school will focus on the performance and governance of services of general interests and in particular on six core sectors: Electricity, Gas, Telecommunications, Railways, Local Public Transport, Water and Waste Water. The objective of this school is to familiarize participants with the structure, regulation and performance of public services in Europe, particularly network industries and policy reforms supported by the European Union.
The school is going to be an excellent opportunity for the ambitious students to get the following:
An overview of network industries reform in the EU in six core sectors;
A unique focus on public enterprises economics and management;
An international faculty of senior experts;
Opportunity for interacting with stakeholders from the European Commission and European agencies;
Participation at the XV edition of Milan European Economy Workshop;
Working groups and under the guidance of a tutor and prize for the best working group presentation;
Visibility of own works through EUsers website, Jean Monnet Network and CIRIEC.
The school will take place at Palazzo Greppi, Università degli Studi di Milano, located in the heart of Milan (Italy).
The school is targeted to master-level, PhD students and post-doctoral researchers who are working in the fields of Economics, Management, Public Administration, Political Science and Social Studies.
Students are expected to attend the school full time. The total number of participants will be limited to 30.
Costs:
Admission to the school is free of charge and costs are covered by the EUsers network with Jean Monnet Action funds.
