Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine & Dentistry (PUPSMD) are seeking to attract PhD candidates of outstanding ability to join their exciting and rapidly expanding internationally-rated Cancer Research programme.

Our team brings together world-class strengths in basic and translational clinical science, providing a strong environment for effective collaboration through a “bench to bedside and back” integrative research strategy.
Cancer is a leading cause of death and morbidity worldwide and with an ageing population its incidence is likely to continue to rise. PUPSMD has a core research theme focused on Cancer, and is one of the UK Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence.
The brain tumour laboratories provide excellent facilities with equipment for biochemical, molecular biology and cell culture work right next to the hospital. The teams also have access to next generation sequencing, GWAS and proteomics facilities. A partnership with Biovault, the largest private UK tissue bank company, provides tissue banking services.
We are looking for highly motivated graduates with a degree in biomedical sciences or related field (1st class or 2:1 equivalent), and preferably with a relevant Masters qualification. International students must also have an IELTS score of 7.0 or above (or equivalent qualification).
