Are you looking for a summer study abroad opportunity in England? Leeds International Summer School (LISS) will run 2 - 31 July 2016 and offers you the opportunity to study abroad, travel and earn credit (20 University of Leeds credits = 6 US credits/10 ECTS).
If you have a GPA of 3.0 or higher you are eligible to apply for one of a significant number of Santander scholarships worth £500 each. Please visit the LISS website www.leeds.ac.uk/summer for more details on the programme and to access the online application form.
Academic modules on offer:
1. The English Country House: A Social History
2. Entrepreneurship and Society: Ideas, Opportunities and Value Creation
3. Business and Cultural Awareness: Bridging the Gap
4. Heretics, Witches and Conspirators: A History of Fear, 1500-1700
5. Building Britain, 1700-1840: Industrial ‘Revolution’ or ‘Evolution'
6. Music in Film
7. British Literature and the Brontës
8. Introduction to Robotics and Autonomous Systems
9. Smartphone Applications
10. Exploring the Law: Crime, Contracts and Legal Skills
11. Wealth and Poverty: The Making of the Modern World
12. Sport in the UK: Health and Performance Issues.
LISS also includes field trips, social activities and excursions plus a trip to London. The 2016 programme fee is £2950 (or £2800 if you submit your application by 23 March 2016) and there are no hidden costs to pay: tuition, on campus accommodation, social programme, field trips, excursions and full gym membership are included.
