ABOUT THE GREEK AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL LEGAL & MEDICAL CONFERENCE
Lawyers and Doctors interested in both the areas of Law and Medicine initiated the Conference series in 1985, stimulated by the origin of both professions in Greek history. Confer-ences are held in Greece every two years, offering a rich blend of high level both professional and scientific presentations and culturally enriching experiences.
Conferences are held biennially on a “not for profit” basis and substantial donations are made to charity. Travel fellowships are offered to young professionals to provide them with opportunities for multicultural, generational and professional interaction.
The fellowships will provide the opportunity for young post graduate researchers to attend the 15th Greek/Australian International Legal & Medical Conference in Thessaloniki, Greece in June 2015 and present a paper of high relevance to the gathered professional forum and meet with international professional leaders .
Applicants should be graduates in Medicine or Law & Business, be under 40 years of age at the time of the Conference and currently enrolled in post-graduate study within either these professional areas.
The successful applicants will be required to present a learned paper of some 20 minutes duration in English at the Conference. Papers that address the Conference theme and/or Greek Australian relationships are encouraged. The Conference has no objection to subsequent publication of any part of the paper in a thesis by the applicant.
The Fellowships, one to a graduate in Law & or business, one to a graduate in Medicine will include a Conference registration, presentation electronic publication and a financial award to assist with study related costs. The Fellowships offer participation in a high level educational opportunity with social and professional interaction with Australian and International leaders in both law and medicine.
Selection of the successful applicants will be made by a distinguished panel, on the basis of Curriculum Vitae and a no more than 1500 word abstract of the paper.
Applications, by submission of the abstract, will close on 2 February 2015. The successful applicants will be required to submit the full text of the completed paper by
Friday 17th April, 2015.
