Leibniz Universität Hannover offers up to 11 PhD student positions (TV-L E13, 65%) in the DFG Research Training Group GRK1798 “Signaling at the Plant-Soil Interface”.
Start of funding is October 01st, 2016. All positions are funded for up to three years, according to pay scale TV-L E13 (65%).
Although key to plant growth and productivity, important molecular processes mediating signal exchange between plant roots and their soil environment are only poorly understood. We thus leibniz-ad-plant-soilseek to uncover the basic principles that occur during signal exchange at the plant-soil interface by applying cross-discipline research and by making use of advanced methods in molecular genetics, genomics, microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, and soil science. Doctoral researchers of the GRK will perform cutting-edge research in an interdisciplinary environment, where they are advised by teams of experienced researchers. Supported by a tailored teaching concept that facilitates the successful development and execution of their projects, our doctoral researchers progress towards independent scientists. Working language in the GRK is English. International cooperation is promoted by an active guest scientist program.
