Vacancies NRC Migrants and Refugee Assistance

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization experienced in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, food security, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors. The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent
employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters, NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours’ notice when a crisis occurs.
In light of the high influx of migrants to the Greek islands, NRC has started an emergency response program on the island of Chios to respond to the humanitarian needs. NRC is assisting the Greek authorities in the reception centres and relates 24/7 services for the arriving migrants and refugees. NRC is therefore seeking to fill the following positions in Chios:
1. Logistics/Warehouse Assistant
2. Site Management Translator Officer (Arabic, Farsi, and Pashtun langue)
3. Site Management Translator Assistant (Arabic, Farsi, and Pashtun langue)
4. Site Management Assistant
5. Distribution Assistant
6. WASH/SHELTER Assistant
Specific qualifications:
• Social working experience
• Relevant professional and educational background
• Proactive with a high level of flexibility
• Fluency in English (minimum), Arabic, Farsi, and Pashtun langue skills an asset
• Motivated and culturally sensitive
• Valid driving licence
Personal qualification
• Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision
• Highest standards of ethics and integrity
• Communicating with impact and respect
