The International DFG Research Training Group "Computational Methods for the Analysis of the Diversity and Dynamics of Genomes" (GRK 1906/1) at Bielefeld University, Germany, offers six PhD positions starting October 2016 (3-years positions; paid according to German TV-L 13 table).
The graduate program involves a six-month research stay at Simon Fraser University or one of the other partner institutions in Vancouver, Canada. (Funds to support parents and challenged persons are available.)
Candidates should hold an excellent Master degree or equivalent in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related areas, and demonstrate deep knowledge in the area they apply for. Language skills in English are required.
