Young Journalists to Cover Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum, Germany (2016)

The European Youth Press’ Orange Magazine is looking for young multimedia journalists, radio journalists, photographers and video-makers to cover this year’s Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum to be held in Bonn, Germany from 13- 15 June 2016.

Successful applicants will undergo editorial training before and during the event to produce multimedia pieces related to this year’s forum topic: Media, Freedom, Values. The stories produced at the event will be submitted with Orange Magazine and the participant’s home media. They are looking for:

2 Photographers

Responsibilities: The photographer will take pictures during the event, which will be published in the print edition of the Orange Magazine, on the Orange Magazine website, Facebook/Twitter and social media pages, and newsletters. The photographer is expected to bring his own equipment and edit his or her own pictures on Photoshop/Aperture to ensure quality publishing.

2 Video Journalists

Responsibilities: The video team will create a series of 3-5 two-minute videos, which will include among others: forum highlights, interviews with speakers, and longer themed features.

2 Radio Journalists

Responsibilities: The radio team will create a series of 3-5 minute podcasts and radio news or features, which will include: forum overviews during plenaries, interviews with key speakers, and longer themed features, or a combination of any of the mentioned.

1 Social Media Journalist

Responsibilities: The social media journalist will handle the updates for the team during the three-day forum. He or she will work closely with the rest of the team to provide updates and snapshots of key activities at the plenary and breakout sessions to update the Orange Magazine social networking sites: LinkedIn, Instagram, Infogram, Pinterest, SoundCloud, Facebook and Twitter.

Eligibility
Young multimedia journalists, radio journalists, photographers and video-makers (aged between 18 and 30) from all over the world.

Benefits
Travel and accommodation will be provided. Each participant must apply for their own visa to Germany according to local embassy rules.
