The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. At work today in over 40 countries, the IRC aims to restore safety, dignity and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to endure.
In response to the influx of refugees in Greece, The IRC Hellas has been working in Lesvos since June 2015 and started operations in Northern Greece in March 2016, providing support to Middle East and North Africa refugees.
The organization in Greece seeks for:
- Women's Protection and Empowerment (WPE)/Gender Based Violence (GBV) Case Worker.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in counseling, social work or other related field
- Clear understanding of and interest in the well being of women and girls, and supporting their healing after the experience of violence
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients
- Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting
- Strong ability to maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, and work in a difficult environment
- Fluency in English and/or Greek. Preference will be given to candidates with fluency in the following languages: Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Kurdish.
