The Department of American Literature, School of English, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in collaboration with the Hellenic Association for American Studies (HELAAS), is announcing the organization of the 2nd Summer School to take place in Thessaloniki, at Aristotle University between Wednesday 29 June to Tuesday 5 July 2016 with the title “Crossing Borders and Civic Engagement in a Changing World.”.
The 2016 Summer School aims at responding to current crises by investigating the impact similar tensions have had on cross-cultural understanding gradually building up to recent debates about politics and ethics, pedagogy and sensitive social issues, personal narratives and mobility challenges.
The summr school accepts applications from:
- undergraduate and postgraduate students
- researchers from all fields of studies
- educators from primary, secondary and college education
- the interested public.
The Summer School program is open to everyone who wishes to deepen their understanding of current scholarly debates and research within the context of:
- global geography
- diasporic narratives
- immigration
- international relations
- civic engagement and education.
