The European College of Parma Foundation is a post-university institute in advanced European studies which provides academic training for young graduates in the field of European Union law, economics and politics. The training provided is geared to preparing students for careers in EU, national and local institutions, professional associations, the corporate world and private practice. One of the College’s objectives is to build up the students’ professional skills in order to enable them to deal with European policies and participate in their implementation.
The Diploma and University Master in Advanced European Studies (ADES) is a top-level interdisciplinary study programme based on European Union Institutions, law, economics and main EU policies
The academic body is made up of former EU officials, professors and EU related issues experts. The participation of students coming from different countries favours an international environment where diverse cultures meet and create true opportunities of integration.
Study Programme
The study programme is divided into two phases.
- Diploma in Advanced European Studies
The first phase includes two academic semesters (from October/November to July). In addition to lectures and individual study, the training provided includes lectiones magistrales, debates and group activities, research activities, study visits to companies, as well as seminars and practice activities aimed at favouring future graduates’ access to the labour market.
- University Master in Advanced European Studies
The second phase takes place after second-semester exams. Graduates in Advanced European Studies can obtain a further diploma, University Master’s Degree in Advanced European Studies, by writing a dissertation under the supervision of a professor of the College on a European issue related to a course or seminar included into the study programme.
Through specific agreements between the European College and three Italian Universities, DAES graduates have the possibility to achieve the University Master's Degrees with one of the following universities:
- University of Parma;
- LUISS Guido Carli University, Rome;
- Suor Orsola Benincasa University, Naples.
Working Languages
Lectures and academic activities included in the study programme are held in three languages: English, French and Italian. In order to provide students with the required language skills – which are particularly important for their future careers – the European College organises courses in the three languages above throughout the whole academic year.
Who can apply
The Diploma and University Master in Advanced European Studies is targeted to EU and non-EU graduates holding university degrees in economic, legal, political, social and language studies, as well as other related fields of study.
