The seminar aims to bring together representatives of NGOs from Programme countries and South Mediterranean countries in order to explore with participants a) recognition relevant issues within their different experiences and understanding and b) the design of possible national strategies for recognition of non-formal learning and youth work.
By exploring recognition-relevant issues i.e. (conceptual) terminology in different languages, lobbying, quality of youth work and non-formal learning, evaluation, assessment, learning to learn …etc., participants will have the opportunity to develop NGO-led national strategies for the recognition of non-formal learning and youth work. With the seminar the organisers aim to co-create a space for honest debates about concepts, topics and issues related to recognition. The activity will be held in Jordan, which offers the opportunity to gain some insights into Jordanian youth work realities and the exchange of good practises.
This seminar is a starting point for new possible developments about the role of non-formal learning and youth work within EuroMed cooperation and will build on the 3-years’ experience of Youthpass in EuroMed youth programmes and critically reflect on future possibilities.
This seminar will contain the following elements
- Workshops about consolidated achievements such as youth wrk status, non-formal recognition strategies...
- Learning (from/ with/through) each others’ experience and achievements
- Sharing with each other background about non-formal learning at national level and NGO experiences
- Inputs about specific topics related to non-formal learning (in youth work)
- Empowering NGO’s in investing in the recognition process.
- Exchange with national delegations on how to develop such a strategy at national level: how, when and with whom participants can continue developing and implementing?
- Case studies about the content.
The seminar is organised by the Italian National Agency for Erasmus+: Youth in Action, the SALTO Resource Centres Euromed and Training and Cooperation.
