The newly founded Research Training Group on „Mathematical Modeling for the Quantitative Biosciences (MMQB)“ at the BioQuant Center / Heidelberg University invites applications for PhD fellowships in Quantitative Biology.
The Research Training Group MMQB aims at developing state-of-the-art methods for modeling and simulations for biological systems across multiple scales – ranging from gene expression through signaling pathways and subcellular structures to cells and their ensembles.
Examples for PhD-projects include mathematical models for gene expression, cell-to-cell variability, virus infection, wound healing, organ size control and neurogenesis. All PhD-projects will be tightly integrated, with training through the principal investigators and in close collaboration with other graduate schools at Heidelberg.
We search for highly qualified and motivated students from mathematics, physics, biology and medicine who are interested in working in the interdisciplinary research environment of the BioQuant Center for Quantitative Biology at Heidelberg University.
