The Centre for Advanced Materials (Zentrum für Hochleistungsmaterialien – ZHM) is a joint institution in Hamburg, Germany, bringing together scientists from universities and non-university research organizations in the area of materials science and technology. Since its foundation by Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht (HZG) and associated institutions in the greater area of Hamburg in 2015, it supports education of young scientists, joint research projects as well as transfer to application in cooperation with industry. The Graduate School for Materials Science, which has been established in 2016, provides a common platform for recruiting, training and networking of PhD students and early-career scientists.
