The FARE - Football Against Racism in Europe-network co-ordinates action against racism in and around football stadiums across Europe.
The aim of the Events Grants is to support events across Europe to tackle discrimination and social exclusion as part of the ‘Football People’ action weeks between 8-22 October 2015.
Applicants will be able to apply for €3,000 grants.
However, applicants must cover at least 20% through other sources. The grants will not exceed 80% of the overall costs.
Projects should meet one or more of these objectives:
- Make football more inclusive by tackling exclusion and discrimination;
- Improve the representation of minorities and women in football;
- Utilise football as a tool for empowerment and social inclusion;
- Educate and breakdown stereotypes.
The events should address topics concerning ethnic minorities, asylum seekers, undocumented migrants, gender issues, homo/trans/bi-phobia, LGBT rights, disability, institutional discrimination or exclusion.
A project might touch on several of these issues.
The events must take place between 6-20 October 2016.
