Public Procurement Summer School - 2nd Edition, to be held at its Foz Campus, Porto, between the 5th and the 8th of September 2016.
This year, Summer School will take place in a context of transposition of the new EU Directives for Public Procurement into all Member States. Regarding the Portuguese case, the event will occur during the public discussions concerning the project for the transposition of the new Directives into Portuguese legal order. In that sense, the transposition process will be the subject of our Summer School. As in the previous year, the thematic will be addressed from a European complementary perspective and from the Portuguese reality.
Summer School will be divided into two complementary programmes: the International Programme and the National Programme.
The International Programme aims to analyse the transposition process of the new EU Directives into the EU Member States and their implications within Member States’ legal frameworks. This programme will be fully lectured in English by leading international academics and professionals. It is intended for students and practitioners who are willing to increase their knowledge on the subject matter and benefit from the personal contact with renowned experts in the world of public procurement.
The National Programme’s purpose is to address the specific challenges posed by the transposition of the new EU Public Procurement Directives into Portuguese Law. In addition, it intends to present a more practical approach to the legal issues arising from the transposition process. This programme will be lectured in Portuguese by leading academics and experts from Portugal and it is mainly directed to a national audience of professionals interested in concrete issues arising from the transposition of the New Directives.
The programmes may be attended separately or simultaneously. That said, those interested may choose to enrol on both programs or only in one.
