Environmental Engineering, HKUST). The research is a part of a wider programme on “Smart Urban water supply systems” (http://smartuws.ust.hk/ ). Students with strong interests in one or more of the following areas (fluid dynamics , fluid-structure interaction, waterhammer, and acoustic waves in water)

Eligibility
This is a call for high caliber candidates with a Master (or equivalently 5 year Diploma) in mechanical or civil engineering, who wish to pursue a PhD degree in Civil Engineering at HKUST.
English Requirements:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Paper-based test (PBT) score ≥ 650, Internet-based test (iBT) score ≥ 95
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): overall score ≥ 7.0, all sub-scores ≥ 6.0
Funding
The standard studentship is approximately HK$15,000 (approximately €1,650) per month tax free.
Strong candidates will be supported to apply for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme. The Hong Kong
PhD Fellowship provides an annual stipend of HK$240,000 (approximately €27,000) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$10,000 per year, for 3 years.
