Description
Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS Regensburg) in cooperation with the Akademie für Politische Bildung Tutzing (APB) and the European Association for Comparative Economic Studies (EACES) organizes 7th Joint IOS/APB/EACES Summer Academy on Central and Eastern Europe: Openness, Institutions, and Development. The conference will be held on 27-29 July 2015, at Akademie für Politische Bildung Tutzing on Lake Starnberg near Munich in Germany.
They invite scholars from economics and related disciplines to submit extended abstracts or full papers (preferred). Topics include, but are not limited to:
Formal and informal institutions and firms in the open economy;
Natural resources and the quality of institutions;
Interactions between domestic product and factor markets, institutions and comparative advantage;
The role of institutions in transition;
Institutional determinants of growth and development.
Preference will be given to papers focusing on East and Southeast Europe and the former Soviet Union.
Eligibility
The IOS/APB/EACES Summer Academies on Central and Eastern Europe aim to bring together doctoral students and Postdocs in a workshop atmosphere. The number of participants is limited to 15. The workshop language is English.
Costs
Сonference fee is 50 € (including single room accommodation for two nights and all meals). The Hans Raupach Award will honor the author(s) of a paper of exceptional merit.
Application
Submissions to summeracademy@ios-regensburg.de should include a short CV containing your contact details (name, affiliation, email address) and an extended abstract (maximum 2,000 words) or a full paper. Submission deadline is 15 April 2015.
Accepted participants will be notified early in May 2015. Complete accepted papers are expected by 1 July 2015.
