The Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies is an independent institute of the University of Helsinki. The purpose of the Collegium is to enhance scholarly excellence in the humanities and social sciences (including law, behavioural sciences and theology), to promote interaction between different fields of academic research and to further international cooperation.
The Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies invites applications for
8–12 POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHERS/UNIVERSITY RESEARCHERS /RESEARCH DIRECTORS
for fixed terms ranging from one to three years, to begin on 1 September 2017. The Director of the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies will determine the number and length of the appointments on the basis of the applicants’ research proposals and the financial situation of the Collegium.
Appointees shall hold a doctoral degree, have evidence of scholarly research work as well as the ability to lead a research group and obtain supplementary research funding. When selecting the appointees, international scholarly work and evidence of international cooperation shall be given particular consideration. An appointee to the position of research director shall have the experience and qualifications equivalent to those of an appointee to a professorship, but when considering the career of such applicants, special attention shall be paid to scholarly work, and evidence of international research cooperation.
