Protection Officer at Mercy Corps (Athens)

Mercy Corps seeks for:
- Protection Officer

Education and Experience:
- BA or equivalent in social work, human rights, or related degree desired
- At least 2 year of experience in implementing protection programs, preferable social work or case management
- Demonstrated understanding of working with at- risk populations, particularly work with migrants or refugees
- Demonstrated experience in capacity building and mentoring of staff
- Previous experience on similar position with NGO will be an asset
- Ability to show initiative and function effectively in a complex work environment that is constantly and rapidly changing
- Ability to carry out responsibilities independently with minimal technical support from within the program organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, prioritization and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with local authorities, national and international NGOs desirable
- Ability to work effectively with an ethnically diverse team in a sensitive environment
- Greek native, excellent written and spoken English required, knowledge of Arabic or Farsi desirable
