2 PhD & 2 Postdoctoral Positions, Ghent University, Belgium (2017)

We are looking to recruit 2 post-doctoral scientists and 2 PhD students to join our young and enthusiastic team at Ghent University. Scientists will investigate the propagation and intensification of global drought events within the context of the ERC-funded project DRY-2-DRY.

Profile for post doctoral scientists:
- Researchers must hold a PhD in hydrometeorology, climate or atmospheric sciences.
- Past experience with atmospheric boundary layer models and/or vapour transport models.
- Good proficiency in computer programming, including Matlab and/or Python.
- Experience publishing in international peer-reviewed journals.
- Good knowledge of remote sensing, management of big datasets, applied mathematics and numerical modelling.
- Experience coordinating group activities and supervising students recommended.
- A creative, innovative, critical and analytical mindset is necessary, together with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent level of English.
