The focus of our Research Training Group Immune Response in Infectious Diseases – Regulation between Innate and Adaptive Immunity lies on the interaction between innate and adaptive immunity in infectious diseases. Outstanding scientists offer a top-class education to excellent young academics from natural sciences and medicine.
We offer a three-year structured program consisting of lecture series, retreats, lab rotations, and methods courses etc. (mandatory). Our international cooperations provide the option to visit labs abroad, learn new methods and widen your professional network. Successful candidates will be awarded the PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) or MD/PhD degree. The program is taught in English.
We expect:
- excellent graduation in the fields of medical biology, biology, medicine, biochemistry, or biotechnology (Master or equivalent)
- proven interest in one or more of the above indicated research fields
- highly motivated and committe
- interested in participating actively in the program of the RTG
- disposed to work with laboratory animals (depending on the project)
- very good written and spoken English skills
The duration of the PhD or MD/PhD position will be up to three years max. The salary is in accordance with the German public service salary scale (PhD: TV-L E 13, 65%), (MD/PhD: TV-L E 13, 90 %).
