Positions for 4 doctoral candidates on ‘water and development research’
We seek highly qualified and motivated individuals with enthusiastic attitude towards interdisciplinary research to conduct Doctoral research at our team. The full funded positions are for period of 1+3 (or 2+2) years, and should start in January 2017.
Position is part of a larger funding scheme from private foundation Maa- ja vesitekniikan tuki ry, supporting water and development related research in Finland. The multi-disciplinary scheme offers a unique setup for inspiring Doctoral research.
Doctoral research should focus on one or several of the following themes:
i) Water governance and/or integrated management approaches
ii) Water security related to food and/or energy
iii) Water (and land) scarcity in food production
iv) Transboundary waters v) Urbanisation and water
vi) Climate change and variability
Qualifications:
Applicants must have completed, or be very near completion, of a Master’s degree in a related field. A strong background in water resources, environmental or other studies relevant to the research themes is required. Familiarity with theme-specific methods is an asset. Fluent English is required.
