MegaSyn (Control and design of multifunctional megasynthases) is focused on structural biology, computational biology, biochemistry, design and biotechnology of polyketide synthases (PKS) and non-ribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPS). PKS and NRPS are both multifunctional enzymes responsible for the production of several pharmaceutically important drugs. The goal of MegaSyn is to connect the expertise of different groups in Frankfurt, Marburg and Giessen to push the borders of research about megasynthases.
MegaSyn offers the possibility of cutting edge research in the field of pharmaceutically relevant PKS and NRPS megasynthases with the transdisciplinary research in the field of structure biology, biochemistry, synthetic biology and biotechnology. Candidates interested in the respective positions should contact the respective group leaders for a detailed job description and details regarding the application procedure.
