Molecular Nanoengineering group in the Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering, Aalto University (Finland), invites applications for new doctoral candidates.
The chosen candidates will carry out experimental interdisciplinary research on DNA nanotechnology, molecular self-assembly and nanoplasmonics in a multidisciplinary and international environment with excellent instrumentation and facilities.
Information about the research group
The Molecular Nanoengineering group is a new research group at the Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering Department, Aalto University School of Science. The group will operate at the interface between nanoscience, molecular self-assembly, DNA nanotechnology and nanoplasmonics with particular focus on DNA-based artificial molecular systems with functionalities tailored for biosensing, nanoplasmonics and biomimetics.
Qualifications
An ideal candidate has a solid background education in, for example, applied physics, biochemistry, physical chemistry, bionanotechnology or biophysics. Previous experience in nanomicroscopy (AFM, TEM, SEM), DNA nanotechnology, biosensing is an advantage.
