13 PhD Positions, EU-funded project, PDZnet, Europe (2017)

The PhD fellowships are part of the EU-funded project, PDZnet, which is an ambitious interdisciplinary and innovative European Training Network (ETN) under the Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (Grant agreement: 675341). The PDZnet consortium is comprised of 11 academic research groups and 3 industrial partners across 6 European countries (Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Sweden). The PDZnet partners are committed to create an outstanding training program for PhD fellows enabling them to elucidate the fundamental cellular aspects and therapeutic potential of protein-protein interactions implicating PDZ domain-proteins.

As part of the network, the PhD fellows will participate in annual network meetings and training events across Europe. Network-wide courses in bioinformatics, scientific illustration and entrepreneurship as well as scientific and transferable skills workshops will be provided. The PhD fellows will work closely with industrial partners of the network and will be assigned a career development mentor. The program includes transnational research stays across the network. The PhD fellows will benefit from intersectoral, interdisciplinary and international mobility that will prepare them for a career in academia or industry across Europe.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with a background in protein chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, cellular and molecular biology or similar fields.

The candidate should hold a relevant Master´s degree, have less than 4 years of research experience and must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity in the country of the host institution for more than 12 months during the last 3 years immediately prior to the recruitment.
