Kent Business School (KBS) welcomes proposals from well qualified PhD candidates who wish to propose projects within any of the following areas with an annual programme start date in September 2017:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Industrial Relations
- Management
- Management Science
- Marketing
- Operational Research
Entry Requirements
The entry criteria for the KBS PhD programme include:
- A relevant 2:1 honours degree
- A relevant Master's degree with Merit
- A good standard of written and spoken English.
- A high quality research proposal
Promising candidates will be invited to participate in an interview before being offered a place on the programme.
Research at Kent Business School
Research at Kent Business School is organised across six research groups with over 50 research active academic staff. The Association of Business Schools' analysis of REF 2014 results places Kent Business School in the top quartile of UK business schools for the breadth and depth of our research across our entire community of staff researchers.
The PhD programme
Kent Business School's PhD community includes over 50 students, based at our Canterbury and Medway campuses. Kent Business School provides each PhD student with a range of resources including research funding, a laptop and access to dedicated office space. Postgraduate students also have access to all the University's resources and facilities, including the Graduate School.
Scholarships
Our annual scholarship competition includes prestigious ESRC, University and School-level scholarships. Successful scholarship applicants will normally meet all of the following criteria:
- A relevant Master's degree (with Distinction).
- A relevant first class honours degree (if still completing a Master's programme).
- An IELT score of 7.0 for non-UK students.
