18 PhD Scholarships in Engineering, University of Magdeburg, Germany (2017)

The Otto-von-Guericke-University aims to bring together two intriguing fields of re-search: Knowledge-based medical imaging and reconstruction and engineering materials: processing, microstructure, simulation, prediction. In order to generate synergies in both fields, they established a joined Graduate School for Medical engineering and engineering Materials (MEMoRIAL). To further strengthen the international interconnection of these research foci, MEMoRIAL aims to educate excellent international PhD student candidates in each of the two MEMoRIAL topical modules:
1) Medical Imaging: Methods to generate anatomical images of a patient’s organ or of the entire patient for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. (8 scholarships)
2) Material Science: developing new materials, analytical methods and derive detailed understanding of the material’s behavior in complex mechanical stress situations (10 scholarships)
