PhD Positions in Information Studies, University of Toronto, Canada (2017)

The Faculty of Information (the iSchool), at the University of Toronto is now accepting applications for the Ph.D. in Information Studies program, starting in September 2017.

Successful candidates will become members of the Database Management group (iDB) within the iSchool.
Students with an MSc or MI degree and a strong background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related fields are particularly encouraged to apply.

Prospective areas of research include but are not limited to:

- structure discovery in large datasets;
- text analytics;
- causality analysis;

Students will be funded for four years through a combination of fellowship and research assistance.
