Legal Director at HIAS (Lesvos)

HIAS seeks for:
- Legal Director

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Law degree and registration with a Greek bar association.
- Significant experience working on refugee protection matters, including refugee status determination, emergency response, and/or refugee advocacy.
- Strong links to refugee law stakeholders in Greece and/or the EU.
- Strong understanding of Greek and EU asylum and migration laws, including Turkey-EU Deal.
- Excellent knowledge of international refugee law, human rights law and application.
- Knowledge of country conditions in Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and other refugee producing countries preferred.
- Strong research and training skills.
- Excellent oral and written English skills; excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to flexibly adapt to a changing legal, emergency-response environment and work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of NGO and government stakeholders.
