15 PhD positions (TV-L 13, 65%) are available for a period of three years, starting April 1st 2017. These will be part of the newly established Research Training Group (Graduiertenkolleg) on ‘Biophysical and Quantitative Imaging towards Clinical Diagnosis’ (BIOQIC), a collaborative venture of the Berlin university hospital (Charité), Berlin universities (Technical University and Free University), and research institutions (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt Berlin, Leibniz-Institut für Molekulare Pharmakologie Berlin-Buch).
We are looking for highly motivated, inquisitive, enthusiastic, and result-driven PhD candidates with an excellent academic record and prior research experience. Candidates should ideally hold Master’s degrees in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Medicine or related disciplines which are relevant for the development of innovative medical imaging technologies. BIOQIC is centered on clinical imaging technologies such as MRI, ultrasound, PET/SPECT and CT, with a focus on objective and quantitative measurements. BIOQIC offers collaborative supervision from basic scientists and clinical experts, embedded in one of the most dense and innovative academic regions in Europe, including the top-rated teaching hospital Charité with Europe's largest radiological department.
