The chemistry and life science research in the Leiden Institute of Chemistry (LIC) is organized around two major research areas: Chemical Biology and Energy & Sustainability.
Chemical biology research at the LIC is aimed at understanding biological processes at the molecular level to strengthen the knowledge base of human health and disease. The approach to achieve this goal is a fundamental chemical one; with the aid of chemical probes biological systems are interrogated. Within this research theme we have several PhD positions available and we are looking for talented students with a MSc from a relevant education.
We offer a full-time, fixed-term post for a period of one year with an extension of three years after positive evaluation of capabilities and compatibility. Ultimately the appointment must lead to the completion of a PhD thesis. Salary range from € 2.083,- in the first year up to € 2.664,- in year four gross per month, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.
