The Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) in Halle (Saale) is a public research institute that pursues basic and applied research in the field of agricultural economics. IAMO (http://www.iamo.de) is a leading international centre of expertise for the analysis of agricultural, agribusiness and rural development in transition economies. It is a member of the Leibniz Association, a German network of non-university research institutes. The institute invites applications for one of up to four PhD positions in the IAMO International Competence Center “Large-Scale Agriculture” (LaScalA)
for a period of 36 months. The positions are to be filled in April 2017, or later.
Successful candidates will conduct their PhD in research fields which allow to improve the understanding of the institutional embedding, organization and socio-economic effects of large-scale agricultural enterprises in transition and emerging market economies such as in Eastern Europe and South America.
