Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill a Research Fellow Position (Postgraduate Associate / Assistant Researcher A) at the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics, at the Photogrammetric Vision Lab, for a H2020 research and innovation project, titled “iMARECULTURE”.
iMARECULTURE supports dry visits by providing immersive experience through HMDs, VR Caves, holographic screens on museums and the web. Additionally, aims to significantly enhance the experience of the diver visitor, implementing underwater AR in an underwater tablet. Applicants should have:
- A postgraduate degree (Masters or equivalent) from a recognized university in Computer Science/Vision, Graphics design disciplines or similar
- Very good knowledge in 3D modeling
- Web Design and programming skills
- Very Good knowledge of the English language (spoken and written)
- Strong motivation and ability to work independently
The following will be considered as an advantage:
- Experience with VR/AR applications, using HMDs
- Server maintenance
- Scientific publications
- Image based or laser scanning 3D modeling
- 3D printing
- Diving skills
Τhe appointment will commence in April 2017 with an initial duration of four (4) months, with the possibility to be gradually extended until the end of the project, in October 2019. The monthly gross salary for the position will range between €1460.78 and €1697.33 depending on qualifications and prior experience. Based on performance, renegotiation of salary is possible upon the renewal of the contract.
