Games of Media - Struggles for People?, Training Course, 26 April - 4 May 2017 | Kyiv , Ukraine
The training course “Games of Media – Struggles for People?” will bring together 30 youth workers and youth activists from 10 EU and neighbourhood countries.
The project objectives are
- to understand how and why media content is produced
- to make distinctions between different types of media content (news journalism, propaganda, promotion, entertainment, etc.)
- to explore the crucial elements of a reliable journalist’s craft (balance, reliability, usage of proper sources)
- to learn to evaluate the reliability of sources and to approach any information critically
- to explore the interrelation between media messages and tolerance/intolerance in our societies, especially in regards to the topic of migrant and refugee crisis
- to learn how to distinguish between media and audience bias
- to promote the core EU values and cooperation under the Erasmus+ programme.
This project is financed by the Erasmus+: Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the organizers. There is a participation fee of 15 EUR.
Travel costs can be reimbursed up to the following amount: Finland, Georgia, Greece, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey – 275 EUR.
