Youth Program Officer at the Mercy Corps (Athens)

Mercy Corps seeks for:
- Youth Program Officer

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- BA/BS degree in a relevant field.
- At least 3 years of experience working with youth.
- Previous experience working in the humanitarian response in Greece, strong understanding of protection issues and experience on mainland a plus.
- Oral Arabic or Farsi skills are desirable.
- Oral and written English skills required.
- Strong reputation working within the community and/or volunteer groups.
- Previous experience in implementing humanitarian programs, understanding of migration amp; refugee response context will be an asset
- Passion for work with youth is required
- Ability to show initiative and function effectively in a complex work environment that is constantly and rapidly changing.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to carry out responsibilities independently with minimal technical support from within the program organization.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, following procedures, meeting deadlines and working and problem-solving independently and cooperatively.
- Effective verbal and written communication, organizational, prioritization and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with local authorities, national and international NGOs
- Ability to work effectively with an ethnically diverse team in a sensitive environment.
