The Department of Pathophysiology within the Faculty of Medicine in the University of Tartu, Estonia is looking for candidates to apply for several 4-year PhD / doctorate positions. The topics of interest focus upon translational genomics including:
- Determination of trophoblast non-coding RNA transfer to endometrial cells
- Understanding the role of inflammation during periconception period in regulation of fertility, development and pregnancy
- Understanding the role of Innate immune system modulators in maintenance of optimum periconception
- Characterization of maternal tract Extracellular vesicles (EV) profile during periconception period
The positions will be undertaken in conjunction with the ERA Chair of Translational Genomics TRANSGENO project. PhD students will be supervised by the ERA Chair, Prof. Alireza Fazeli in conjunction with one or more collaborating professors.
A supporting scholarship from combined sources will be about €800 per month. The position depends on external funding and the applications will be processed in two stages. In the first stage, all applications will be reviewed by the University of Tartu and entrance interviews will be scheduled via Skype with the ERA Chair. Then the selected candidates and the University of Tartu will apply for funding via the programme DoRa+. The final decision on the funding will be made by the funding agency Archimedes and the University of Tartu.
