PhD & Postdoctoral Fellowships in Structural Biology/Biochemistry, University of Pavia, Italy (2015 - 2016)

We are inviting applications for full-time PhD and postdoctoral positions in our structural biology group at the Department of Biology and Biotechnology, University of Pavia – Italy. We are seeking candidates in the context of two projects:

-ROBOX, a Horizon2020 funded project which aims at the development of redox enzymes for biotechnological applications. Scientists will investigate the structural and biochemical properties of selected enzymes and will be engaged in the structure-based development of designer enzyme mutants of relevance for industrial and synthetic purposes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to improve his/her scientific and complementary skills and greatly further his/her career opportunities in S & T in Europe.
-A project funded by the Italian Association for Cancer Research investigates chromatin-modifying enzyme complexes that function in the human chromatin. Cutting-edge structural and biochemical methods will be used to unravel the architecture of these complexes and to exploit this information for the design of inhibitors with implications in cancer therapy.

Pavia is a lovely University Town with very good quality of life, about 40 km from Milano.
