MHPSS Translator / Cultural Mediator at the International Rescue Committee (Athens)

International Rescue Committee seeks for:
- MHPSS Translator / Cultural Mediator

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Translations, social sciences, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in an English speaking context.
- Experience in working at international development programs highly desirable
- Work experience in translation/ interpretation services
- Strong communication skills (written and spoken) in English and Arabic and/ or Farsi and ability to translate into English and vice versa
- Understanding and sensitivity towards the needs of people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Responsiveness to queries and referrals as and when needed and able to manage a varying workload
- Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people
- Flexibility, openness to others, humanitarian motivation.
- Training in interpretation or intercultural mediation is an asset
- Experience of working with refugees and vulnerable groups of people is an asset
