Postdoctoral Fellowships, Max Planck Harvard Research Center for Quantum Optics, Germany (2018)

In order to expand on their research in the interdisciplinary field of quantum science and to educate excellent young scientists, the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ) and the Harvard Quantum Optics Center (HQOC) recently decided to intensify their scientific collaboration with the creation of the Max Planck Harvard Research Center for Quantum Optics (MPHQ). In the framework of this cooperation, research and educational activities take place in fundamental and applied fields of quantum physics. Your qualifications
We are currently looking for excellent candidates for our two-year Postdoctoral Fellowships in Quantum Science based at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ). The successful candidates will be based at MPQ, with the opportunity to take advantage of our unique cooperation infrastructure including a joint Post-Doc mentoring scheme and frequent opportunities for exchange with our partner institute in Harvard. In addition to that, fellowships highly encourage the development of joint research projects between Harvard and MPQ by providing applicants with the unique opportunity to profit from the excellent scientific network present at both institutions. Applications are accepted for the following scientific core areas: Quantum Simulation; Quantum Phases of Matter; Quantum Information Science; Quantum Sensing and Metrology; Quantum Networks; Quantum Dynamics and Ultracold Quantum Chemistry.

Application Requirements
In order to be eligible for our Postdoctoral Fellowships in Quantum Science applicants should have completed their PhD no more than three years before starting the fellowship. The starting date of the fellowships is flexible, but should be agreed upon within a year of application. To apply, we kindly ask you to submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, and a brief description of your research interests and scientific goals for the fellowship (500 words max.). In addition to that, applicants are to arrange for three letters of reference. All materials are accepted only through the website listed below. Applications will be considered and evaluated jointly by all PIs of MPHQ.
