We are offering: Five 3-year Post Doctoral positions (which are extendable for an additional 2 years based on productivity) for creative biologists and chemists with a track record of research productivity and independence to utilize the tools of this remarkable molecular/ecological toolbox to explore hypotheses about the organismic level function of genes. We are particularly interested in functional hypotheses that address questions in the following broadly defined areas:
1) resistance, tolerance and avoidance traits that function at individual plant and community levels to enhance plant fitness in response to biotic challenges;
2) survival in the seed banks;
3) mate-selection including all steps from pollen delivery to seed siring;
4) root behavior and function;
5) opportunistic mutualisms with microbial partners.
We are particularly interested in projects that utilize our many RNAi lines that have already been screened and tested (rather than requiring the generation of new lines), particularly those involved in the plant’s endogenous clock and photo-perception.
