The overall aim of the UCD SPIRe Doctoral Scholarship is to attract applicants of the highest academic standards to participate in the UCD SPIRe PhD programme and provide them with the training, experience and mentorship necessary to their professional development.
UCD School of Politics and International Relations (SPIRe) is the oldest and the largest school of its kind in the Republic of Ireland. According to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017, published on the 7th of March, UCD School of Politics and International Relations is ranked in the top 100 in the world and No. 1 in Ireland by subject. In the subject area of Development Studies, which is also housed by the school, UCD is also ranked in the top 100 in the world and No. 1 in Ireland.
Eligibility
- The applications are open to any new PhD students to the PhD in Politics and International Relations;
- Continuing students, or students transferring only part of their PhD studies to UCD, cannot apply.
Scholarship
This scholarship covers full fees and a living stipend of 14,000 euro per year for up to four years.
