Hannover Biomedical Research School, as part of Hannover Medical School (MHH), invites applications for the Summer academy, from August 15th – 29th, 2015.
Description
The 2 to 4-week LISA Summer Academy in Immunology allows excellent international students of life-sciences to gain knowledge in "cutting-edge" inflammation research. This field has gained a tremendous momentum over the last 15 years due to progress in the area of innate and adaptive immunity. Processes of inflammation, immunity and tolerance at mucosal surfaces (such as lung and bowels) have been a long-term focus of research at MHH funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Lecturers will present their scientific work from those DFG-Collaborative Research Centres and will allow students to participate at practical demonstrations and lab rotations. Additionally, keynote lectures from international guest speakers will provide "state of the art" information on current research topics. International students will further present their own scientific work during poster sessions and will get the opportunity to meet German and international students currently enrolled in MHH PhD programmes. An optional additional lab rotation of 2 weeks can be chosen.
We are looking for highly-motivated candidates (Bachelor, Master, Medical students) who have an active interest in Immunology and are planning to start a PhD in 2015. Excellent written and spoken English skills are required. International applicants are welcome. Application on the website http://www.hbrs-summeracademy.de
